Running
I have tried hard to keep my running posts to a minimum, but I had to share one thought. I have come to realize what my most rewarding moment is when I go out running. Here is where my "coach", Rachel, would say it is when I pass someone (especially if I pass them WHILE pushing a stroller, a double stroller is even better.) She thinks I am crazy and obsessive. I blame it on my brother who taught me the delicacies of competitiveness. However, today I realized there is something I love even more than passing someone- it is when a fellow runner, running the opposite direction, stares me down, sees the heavy load I am pushing and gives me "that look"- you know, the one that says "well done!" Some will share confident and uplifting comments to me as I pass. One guy gave them the hang loose sign. Thrilled. In that moment I feel pretty darn good about myself. You know those moments you need, the ones where you can say "I did something hard today that not every mother of four can do."

i love this! we just got a running stroller tonight and i can't wait to use it! what kind of running stroller do you have? i'm amazed that you run with a double.
Little did that person know you were probably obsessing over their pace and trying to see if you were going faster than them from the opposite direction......
j/k Michal. You amaze me with your drive and determination and your ability to run fast even with a stroller. And your ability to listen and give great free therapy while running. :)
Saturday?
You are the best runner I know.
It is nice to get a "good job" every now and then. Moms need more pats on the back.
Thought of you last night while out on my run. I wish I still had you in a running partner! However, these days I am not sure I could keep up! And yes, getting "that look" while running and pushing a stroller with 2 kids uphill is the absolute BEST!!
I am always that person who is giving all runners "the look"! I just don't see the fun in it at all... every time I give it a chance all I can think about is dying:-)
Chris had the same moment a while ago . . . but he was on the other side of the fence. He witnessed a buff mom pulling a twin trailer behind her bike, going up a steep hill. He actually stopped and saluted her!
Michal, you are a ROCK STAR!! Well done!! I hope I can start running with you and Rachel again before too long.
Way to kick butt! Your running is awesome. PS, why don't you share more of your running stuff here? I'm sure you have some awesome experiences and stories.
