Wicked Cute

Yesterday Connor, Corbin and I got to got see the amazing Wicked. Corbin is now a die hard fan! This was our valentines date just a little late. I would have to say Elphaba was the most amazing character I have ever seen or heard on Broadway. It was well worth it!

Here are also some pictures of Corbin. This kid has so much hair that I can actually style it. If I dared, I could even try to cut it. But with my luck it is all going to fall out anyway. So here are just two of his styles- the missionary look (he makes for a good one don't you think), and then his wind blown look (this one just makes me laugh every time I look at him.) At least we know he is a versatile kid, who looks good any way his hair is! Boy do we love this kid!

A pleasant week

It has been over a week, but I wanted to make sure I gave Dylan's Birthday the attention it deserved. I have truly loved the last four years! I have grown and learned so much more than I ever could in any other way. There have definitely been challenging moments, but then you have one of those spectacular moments that make all the hard ones melt away. I am so proud of my little Dylan, who isn't so little anymore. He is a big brother X2!! He is incredibly talented physically (as you all know) yet he amazes me intellectually all the time. He has a great memory and loves learning- when he can manage to sit long enough! This is just a little picture of his birthday. He got a red, hooded towel (for lightening and Rocket), a punching bag (which is already dead), a remote control car that he built with dad, and Rocket (from Little Einsteins.) He had a great day and fought hard in an attempt to not let it end! I have to admit that Dylan has been quite tough to handle lately. Connor complains often about the consequences I tell Dylan he will receive, yet I have no intention, or I literally can not enforce them. For example; I told Dylan he couldn't turn four if he didn't act like it! Connor just laughed. But it worked! I guess I need to work harder on only dishing out what I can really enforce!

Here is our little Corbin with his eyes open -and crossed. No matter how many pictures I take of him I can never capture how cute he is. He has his own little look, but he is so handsome!!! I didn't think my kids could get any cutter (no matter how biased I am.) So I guess you all will have to see him to believe it. Sometimes I wonder if we came home with the right baby. I don't know if he is really a Thompson. All the babies I have had wake up 3-4 times a night. Corbin wakes up only 2 times. There were a few good nights that I put him to bed around midnight and he only woke up once! But I might jinx myself for even bringing it up. I also have learned how to do just about everything while nursing! Corbin is really a great baby and is so patient with Dylan and Ashlyn always wanting to hold him or help with him. He truly is a gift from Heaven!

I also wanted to make a tribute to my parents. They came just in time to rescue us from the chaos. I don't know who had more fun, my parents or the kids. But I want them to know how much I appreciate their help. They did an amazing job of entertaining my kids, cleaning my house, making the meals and letting me rest. I attribute my recovery to them. I wouldn't be up walking today if it wasn't for them. I am amazed at how well they can keep up with my kids and still have enough energy to fix my broken coat tree and clean my bathroom! I love you both so much! Thank you, than you, thank you!

Corbin Max Thompson

Our little man finally decided to come. Much faster than we all expected. From start to finish it was only 4 1/2 hours! That was quite an improvement over Ashlyn's 22 hour ordeal! He came Wednesday, February 6th at 11:16pm. He was 6 lbs. 14 oz. and 18 inches long. So happy birthday to Colleen and Cami!

Is it really so

Here is an updated picture of the little guy we are yet to meet. You would think it couldn't get any bigger than this, but somehow it has.

I would like to thank all of those who voted and gave me new, great ideas for names. However, I am disappointed that my name got out voted. My first pick is Camden, and then maybe Gavin. But then we were thinking we could name him Corbin Bleu Thompson. Any High School Musical Fans with us??

The counter is down to only three days, however he can't come tomorrow because Dylan has clearly let us know he would like to keep his birthday to himself. I think we were ready last week for this kid to come. I had cleaned the house, done my laundry and even done my own shaving! I learned from my sister-in-law that really the toe nail painting and leg shaving is customly done by the husband- great idea considering I had to hold my breath just to clip my toe nails!
As some of you might have guessed the above picture is not really me, it is Connor with one of Dylan's birthday balloons stuffed in his shirt. Here is the real thing:

And still I think this doesn't quite do justice, seriously, I am unnaturally huge! As you can see I am also sporting my everyday outfit- sweats. I live in them because everything else is so breezy now-a-days. My maternity clothes have actually gotten too small and they don't meet in the middle! And boy can it get cold here! Maybe that is why this kid hasn't come- he can feel how cold it can get and he likes to stay where it is always warm.
Put us in your prayers for this week. This kid had better come or I will go insane. I think Dylan and Ashlyn no longer believe that this kid is ever really going to come because of the many anticipatory comments we have made to them. We are constantly telling them, to tell Him to come out and play. Ashlyn thinks it is all just a big game and Dylan doesn't remember the last time I actually played "the real" games with him (wrestling, running and tackling him.)
