Bottles

I'm in love with my recent project...
Random clear vases/bottles/cups coated with desired color of paint. Quick and easy- my type of craft. Now I need to get motivated to start a few other neglected projects on my list.

Drab to Fab

I had a pair of just OK flip flops. I am trying to be more thrifty and spend less, so I had an idea. Why not turn those flops into something better?

Do my Drab...
To Fab...
I love they way they turned out. But taking a picture of your own foot without making it look alienish is harder than it looks!

Christmas Crafts

I am sure you all know I couldn't go too long with out crafting. Isn't that such a silly word?

I was very behind on a few Christmas item and I finally finished them last week...

I have never found the right topper for our tree. I finally found an idea that I liked, but put it off. It was Dylan's comment this year about how we didn't have anything on the top of our tree that compelled me...
And in case you were wondering, it is not origami- thanks Ben!

I also made Kamryn's stocking, still deciding if I love it or not...
Growing up, my mom always made Christmas pillowcases for us. Such a simple tradition that I wanted to continue. These two are for Corbin and Kamryn.

My long to do list just got a little shorter with these off my mind!

Summer Wreaths

I have suddenly become in love with wreaths, I don't know why. But these are a few of my recent favs:
My summer seaside wreath:

And my patriotic wreath:

Tip I learned: remember to actually READ the directions before attempting to try to follow them.

nursing covers

I can finally show off my latest creations because it won't ruin any surprises. Our ward has had a HUGE boom of babies- 9 babies!!! Half of them are first time mommies, which is terribly exciting.

So I decided to make those new mommies one of these...A cute nursing cover (some people would like to call them hooter hiders, you can choose)...

I think they turned out quite adorable if I say so myself. And while I was at it, I made myself a new one, mine was pretty ragged looking...

Cradle

The clock is ticking, I only have so much time left to finish all my projects. I decided to recover some pads for the cradle... By the way, I love this cradle. It is by far my favorite piece of baby furniture. It was made by my grandfather when my oldest brother was born out of furniture he had around his house. It has been slept in by all my siblings and now by all the grandchildren! Thanks to all those who worked hard to get this all the way out to me!

Red Wreath

So I made this way cute wreath...
I got the idea from my friend Rochelle. I just get ticklish all over when I look at it. However, I want to know how she got her kids to help? Mine weren't nearly as helpful. And this is the first time I have wished I did not have a red door, to show it off a little more!

More Crafts For You

Before I start let me remind you this is an accumulation of crafts over the last few months. I am not crazy!

For my mom...
Ashlyn has been begging me for skirt and broach after she has been my model many a times for skirts we have made for others. My little poser!

Then I made this for my friend...

A wipe case and matching diaper case. Thanks for the idea Meghan!

And I finally got around to making Corbin's stocking: With some holly berries:This was a much easier stocking than all the other's I have made, for a refresher click here and here for just a few. Maybe I am getting burnt out. However, it looks a little bland/flat next to my other stockings. If you have any great ideas of how to jazz it up a little it would be appreciated. I was thinking maybe a few buttons or beads??? What do you think?

Painting Away

I have finally finished my first masterpiece (if you could really call it that.) My kids' room has been looking quite bare and finding the right wall hanging seemed impossible. So why not just do it myself. I put this project off for a long time because I was afraid of the unknown. But it has been a lot of fun and often quite addicting. For aesthetic purposes, here is the painting above her bed for you to get an idea...
Now on to Dylan's ball mania portrait!

Transform Your Shirt

My friend Anna invited me over for a fun girls night. Really I was there for the food since, to me, she is a gourmet cook.

We also did a craft to keep our hands busy while we talked. This one was fun and EASY!!! I am all about easy!
All you need is an old, boring t-shirt (or anything else- bag, pillowcase etc.), fabric paint and some freezer paper! Tutorial at: http://artfulparent.wordpress.com/2008/05/10/freezer-paper-stenciling-so-fun/
So here is what I came home with. Ashlyn was super pleased and I was glad to make a once, unworn t-shirt seem brand new and fun!
I also put a giraffe on Corbin's shirt pocket, picture didn't turn out well, so just imagine.

The possibilities are endless with this one!

Craft Tag

Got tagged by my sister-in-law Leslie back in February and I am just getting around to finally posting. But her project (a stuffed turtle that you can take out of it's shell) is amazing which makes mine look like a little kid's scribbling in comparison. Lately, I haven't had much time for crafting. These are a few gifts I had to prepare for upcoming occasions. I thought they looked good enought to share!

Some covered notebooks and burpcloths...

Then there were these that I couldn't post until I gave them to the recipient...

Jamie and Kamrah's baby blanket for Lochte...

And my favoirte burpcloth for Lochte...

And my lanyard for my badge for work...
Tag: Show us your latest project(s) whether it is completed or still in progress. Show-off a little and inspire other bloggers with new ideas.

I tag Meghan, Jenny, Aubrey, Anna, and Melanie

Happy Crafting!!

Bow Night

This is what I did last night with a few ladies in my ward. They are so cute I might have to build a outfit just to match them.

FYI, we found out some little tips to help, so if you ever make some, let me know and I will dish out all the details.

My Effort to Stay Organized

This is my new project-

Connor was sick of my old Calendar that my mom used for the last 20 years. So I created this new one. I made custom magnets to make this smaller calendar more efficient. It is hard to tell with the light, but they are small glass marbles on top of paper and a magnet. So far it has been wonderful!!

I did it!

So I never thought I could say it, but I am all caught up with my stocking making for the year! Here is just a look at another one of my stockings (this one I would not recommend making) but it is fun!

Again, I hope all of you have a very Merry Christmas, enjoyed with your families surrounded in the love of our Savior.

Here Comes Santa Clause!

Here is my latest project. I have been on a project frenzie since the completion of my test- my project freeze. Here is Ashlyn's finally finished stocking. Now I just need to work on my own. However, at this rate it might have to wait until next year. I have found that creating my own "pattern" is rewarding, yet time consuming (I am a pour pattern follower.)
Santa will be visiting our house this Saturday because he knows we will not be here on Christmas day. Dylan is very excited that the day has finally arrived, one he has been waiting for for three months. When he sat on Santa's lap he asked for a Mack (cars) and a bell (polar express.) So if there is anyone who wants to join us for Santa's first visit of the year, we would love to have you!!!
Happy Holidays!

An adventure into Upholstery

Here is my latest project. I found a cute kids chair at a garage sale for $3. I was so excited about my find. But Connor was not too impressed. So I set out to recover the chair. Not bad for my first time huh? However, I think I should have sent Connor out to find the new fabric! Amazing how passionate a man can be in home decor!
